Peace Pilgrimage is about walking for peace.
We walk to challenge both the violence in ourselves and in our communities, alongside the wider culture of violence which pervades our world.
Key to this culture of violence is the arms trade. Core to our purpose is opposing the Arms Trade at every level. The government, the arms manufacturing companies, those who finance and enable the arms industry. We want to challenge our cultural complicity with militarism and state violence.
The human impact of the Arms Trade is evident everywhere; notably in Palestine, Ukraine, Yemen, Sudan, DRC, Lebanon and in many many other conflict zones less often in the news. The arms trade is present and profiting around the world from militarised policing, the drugs trade, and gang culture. It pervades so much of how the world is right now.
The environmental impact of the arms trade is huge, resulting in enormous ecological destruction.
Below are a list of resources both about the arms trade, and our responses to it….
